Looking to develop a new project for your neighborhood? HandsOn South Alabama is the agency to meet those needs.
Through a $25,000 Neighboring Grant, HandOn South Alabama has been developing a year-long community action plan, benefiting the downtown community. Area residents are invited to attend a kick-off meeting to ensure that neighborhood concerns are addressed in the planning process.
The projects may center on issues of concern or interest to residents such as the environment, economic and community development, education, health and wellness. One of the central projects will include a community garden that will benefit those in the downtown community near Calhoun Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. HandsOn South Alabama will be working closely with its partners to connect requested services with area residents.
