Announcing Young Women Leadership Scholarship
The Junior League of Mobile (JLM) is accepting applications for the Young Woman Leadership Scholarship. The scholarship is designed for two young women in their senior year of high school, one in Mobile County and one in Baldwin County, who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and community improvement, innovation and creative actions that reach out to and motivate others, a commitment to continued education, and at least one year of experience as a volunteer in the community in addition to any school related service requirements.
Two scholarships of $1500 each will be awarded.A written essay, recommendation form, two letters of reference and official high school transcript are required for consideration. The essay should include volunteer experiences, motivation for further education, a summary of extracurricular and leadership activities, and a list of colleges and/or universities to which the young woman has applied.
Complete information should be mailed to JLM Headquarters (57 North Sage Avenue, Mobile, 36607), Attn: Youth Scholarships Chair. The deadline for applications is March 15.
